This module provides occupational knowledge and skills of the various techniques and concepts in the quality in the Fashion Industry,you will learn quality concept, quality inspection, what constitutes a defect, statistical sampling, testing, product safety, seam and stitch problems and solutions.

Objectives

Measure a garment against a given size specs based on the standard point of measurement as per international and industry standards
Inspect garments to identify defects
Determine inspection sample sizes and acceptance/rejection levels
Identify Fabric defects based on industry standards
Report non-conformance or abnormalities in quality of textile and apparel products against organizational, industrial and legal requirements
Determine relevant solutions to quality related problems

Academic Requirements

Local Students
- GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- WSQ Advanced Certificate OR
- WSQ ES WPLN Level 5 and above
International Students
- High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Level with 3 credits including English and Mathematics OR
- Qualifications from professional institutes may be considered on a case-by-case basic OR
- Pass TaF.tc Entrance Test
English Language Proficiency
- Possess a minimum credit in English at GCE ‘O’ Level or its equivalent OR
- IELTS score 4.5 or TOEFL score 450

Successful completion of all modules within the course

Graduation Criteria

75% attendance rate of total training hours per module
Assessed and be competent for every module
Student Pass Holders – a minimum of 90% attendance per month will be required.

Awards

Upon succcessful completion of the course, trainee will be awarded the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA). WSQ Certification is nationally endorsed and recognised by industry partners.
